Self-Care

This morning for breakfast, I reconnected with a friend I hadn't seen in a couple of years. It was wonderful to reflect on memories from the past and catch up on her life, family, and travels. After breakfast, I headed out to play pickleball with some friends in Waipio. It's about a 30-minute drive, but I don’t mind the distance because it allows me to listen to my “Just Cruise” playlist, which I simply can’t get enough of.

I made it to my destination and played for a solid three hours. It was exactly what I needed—playing with people who love the sport just as much as I do. When I can feel my heart pumping, it tells me that my heart is strong, and I physically feel good.

When I got home, I washed up, took some time to rest, and sent words of appreciation to those I had just spent time with. I also reached out to others to see how they are doing and enjoyed a warm cup of tea. When’s the last time you practiced self-care?
